Healthcare Reform Law

A new survey shows the majority of employers intend to keep sponsoring healthcare plans.

Under the Healthcare Reform Law, employers with at least 50 employees that do not offer healthcare coverage to their employees will be liable for a non-tax-deductible penalty of $2,000.00 for each full-time employee.

Over the next three to five years, employers said that they are considering changing plan designs and the way coverage is offered.  Those employees who exhibit healthy lifestyles might be eligible for reduced premiums.  Other employees might have their prescription drug co-payments waived when they can demonstrate they are following doctors orders concerning chronis conditions.  Again, these are just a few ideas being exchanged with regard to the Healthcare Reform Law.  Right now, nothing is a guarantee.

The real question is how is the Healthcare Reform Law going to affect small businesses?  Follow my blog for more information concerning this very vexing issue.
